First Lady still unhappy with early marriages

First lady Esther Lungu has urged women in Namwala district of southern province to desist from marrying off children at an early age.

Mrs. Lungu says educating a girl child is one way of eradicating poverty among women because for a long time now women have lagged behind in terms of economic and self-reliance.

The chief who is happy with her visit says she is the only first lady to visit his chiefdom since independence.
