Aggressive sexual intercourse among pupils at Lusaka’s Munali secondary school has angered General education minister Dr. John Phiri.
Dr. Phiri is concerned with high cases of pupils engaging in sex which is contributing to increased HIV prevalence rates.
He says instead of graduating with good results pupils are leaving school infected with HIV.
Dr. Phiri says there is need to improve sexual reproductive lessons to help pupils avoid engaging in premarital sex.
He said this when he officially launched sexual reproductive school manuals and text books in Lusaka.
Premarital sex is sexual activity practiced by people who are unmarried.
Historically, premarital sex was considered a moral issue which was taboo in many cultures and considered a sin by a number of religions.
