State hints on hiccups on migration to digital platform

The state has hinted that the country is still not ready to migrate to a digital platform due to lack of infrastructure.

Chief Planner at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Cathy Lishomwa has disclosed that so far her ministry has only succeeded to complete one of the three projects because of the massive investment required to concluded the entire process.

She says this therefore entails that the exercise will seemingly take a longer period and has noted that many people are likely to be disadvantaged once the project is completed because not every citizen can afford to buy a decoder required to receive a digital signal on a television set.

She said this at the end of a media workshop when she was asked by journalists in Livingstone on how far Zambia has progressed on Digital Migration.
