NAWAKWI ARRESTED FOR ABDUCTION.

Forum for Democracy and Development Party President, Edith Nawakwi has been charged and arrested for abduction.

The 63-year-old is alleged to have abducted Pheluna Hatembo and Milton Hatembo and confined them in different lodges in Lusaka between September 2020 and January 2021.

It is alleged that during their confinement, the victims were not allowed to move, communicate with anyone and do anything without her authority.

In 2021, the former Finance Minister accused President Hakainde Hichilema of fraudulently purchasing Farm No. 1924 of Kalomo District, where an Administrator to the estate of Mr. Samson Siatembo, Ms Pheluna Hatembo, sued President Hichilema.

However, the High Court dismissed the case and the applicants appealed.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale says the victims travelled to Lusaka from Choma after Ms. Nawakwi deceived them that she was going to help them.

He says she has been released on Police Bond pending court appearance.

In 2021, police arrested five people among them Chief Mukuni’s wife Veronica in connection with the alleged abduction of Pheluna and Milton Hatembo.
