All is set for this weekend’s under-15 Boxing Youth Sport Challenge to be staged at Lusaka’s Olympic Youth Development Centre.
Boxing at the Centre has proven to be one of the most crowd pullers with hundreds of athletes participating in the competition.
Boxers from twelve clubs will compete in eleven weight categories (21-27kgs).
Boxing Coordinator Peter Chisala, says the preparations for the amateur boxing tournament are progressing well.
Chisala named ZNS, Green Buffaloes, Nkwazi, Red Arrows, Africa Direction, Rising Hope, Exodus, Olympafrica, Vision and Club MK as teams that will be participating in the tournament.
He disclosed that all the twelve teams have been selected from Lusaka and participated in the 2015 Samsung Youth Sport Challenge.
And Chisala has predicted that this year’s tournament will be tough and breathe taking when young boxers will be engaging in fistful entertaining fights.
Meanwhile, Exodus boxing club is the defending champion of the Boxing Youth Sport Challenge at the OYDC in the boys and girls respectively.
Chisala has since called on boxing enthusiasts to turn up in numbers and watch young boxers stating that admission is free.
