PF Govt’s stance on POA disappoints UPND

The UPND is disappointment with Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila’s statement that the Public Order Act will no longer be reformed.

UPND Spokesperson Charles Kakoma says it is sad that the Patriotic Front-PF government should now state otherwise despite promising the opposite.

Mr Kakoma says this is a direct result of the PF government’s poor leadership and planning, as well as the ruling party’s inability to walk the talk.

He says the Public Order Act has been subject to widespread abuse under the PF government which he says has used it to restrict the movement of opposition parties.

Mr Kakoma says several stakeholders have complained about the selective manner in which the Public Order act has been applied especially in the last one month.

This is according to a statement issued to MUVI TV by the UPND Newsroom.
