Promotion Of Junior Parliaments Has Helped Reduce Protests In Schools-Govt

The reduction of secondary school protests on the Copperbelt has been attributed to the effective promotion of junior parliaments in the province.
Ministry of Sport Youth and Child Development Provincial Coordinator Esther Chimimba says pupils are able to engage management on matters that evoke protests in schools.
Ms. Chimimba says the ministry will continue promoting such programes and that plans are underway to extend the junior parliament in other provinces.
The junior parliament is also held as a run up to the commemoration of the Day of the African Child which will is held on June 16, every year.
