CSOs Challenge Mining Companies to Always Compensate Displaced Residents

Civil Society Organizations have charged that mining companies should be obliged to rightly compensate villagers they displace.Civil society organizations from various African countries which include South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Uganda say it is disheartening to note that most displaced residents are not compensated.
Speaking at the Mining Indaba taking place in Lusaka, CSOs have also stated that environmental concerns should be applied to all mining companies operating in various areas.
