Edith Nawakwi Asks ECZ To Disqualify PF, UPND

FDD Leader, Edith Nawakwi has accused the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ-of failing to pinpoint and disqualify UPND and PF over ongoing violent acts in the run up to the August General Elections.
She says it is unreasonable for the electoral body to fail to mention the names of the parties when it is clear that the two, UPND and PF are involved in what she describes as thuggery.
On Friday the ECZ could not specifically name which parties are perpetrating violence, but threatened to suspend campaigns and disqualify political parties fueling violence.
Meanwhile, Ms. Nawakwi has called on police to arrest a suspected senior member of the UPND for attacking and injuring her party’s candidate for Namwala Constituency.
She was speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka.
