President Lungu Insists Troubled Post Newspapers Must Pay

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says the decision by the Zambia Revenue Authority to take over assets of the Post Newspaper was an independent action.
He says government is aware of the various perceptions surrounding the closure of The Post Newspaper.
President Lungu says the closure of the post was a decision of the Supreme Court and has nothing to do with him.
He says it is important for cooperating partners and stakeholders to note that Zambia values the principle of separation of powers between the three arms of government.
President Lungu was speaking when he addressed diplomats at State House this morning.
He says those who feel The Post Newspaper is being victimized should raise money to pay ZRA and that the matter will be cleared overnight noting that the debt has been accruing since 2009.
