Union Disowns Suspended Brewery Workers

The national union of commercial and industrial workers says it has failed to intervene in the suspension of over 40 workers at National breweries because of the deals the workers were involved in.
Union President, Robert Munsanje says the issue at national breweries is complicated because of the questionable deals the workers were undertaking.
Mr. Munsanje’s remarks follow the suspended unionized national breweries employees’ displeasure over the union’s alleged failure to intervene in their plight.
The workers suspect corruption among their union leaders as they say the union was informed of the indefinite suspensions that over 40 employees were served with in October last year.
They fear that if their plight is not given any attention, they will end up losing their benefits as some of them have worked for the company for over five years yet have been put on suspension.
