Us Calls For Immediate Post Newspapers Reopening

The US Government has urged for the immediate reopening of the Post newspaper.
Embassy of the United States of America,
Public Affairs Officer, Janet Deutsch urges Government to work with the Zambian Revenue Authority and the Post to find a way forward that allows the Newspaper to reopen immediately.
She says the timing of the closure of institution, only weeks before the elections, is of deep concern.
Ms. Deutsch says the closure of The Post is the loss of an independent voice during the campaign period, noting that the free flow of information is an essential element of a free, fair, credible and peaceful election.
