10 Council Officers Fired For Allegedly Being Partisan

Ten council principal officers accused of aligning themselves to the opposition UPND have been fired.
Local Government and Housing Minister Steven Kampyongo says it has come to government’s attention that some council secretaries and town clerks have been working with the opposition political party.
Mr. Kampyongo says the officers in question were retired in national interest.
And Mr. Kampyongo has dismissed allegations that he and his Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga were in an election rigging plot.
