3 Oil Marketing Companies Fined Over Breach Of License Conditions

The Energy Regulation Board has fined three oil marketing companies and severely warned threes others for breach of license conditions.
SGC investment has been fined 48 thousand, Engen Petroleum Zambia 24 thousand and Kobil 17 thousand for various breaches of their licence conditions.
Ravasia petroleum, Lake petroleum and Oasis Oil were severely warned for various breaches.
SGC was penalised for offloading fuel at one filling station using a foreign tanker contrary to quality control and monitoring guidelines.
For other companies breaches range from failing to report fuel contamination, failing to provide ancillary services such as water, clean sanitation, functioning air compressors and fire extinguishers at some filling stations.
Penalties on erring licensees were slapped following enforcement heading hearings conducted in the first quarter of 2016.
