Politicians In Rare Face To Face At ECZ Stakeholders Meeting

With 26 days remaining before the 11th August, 2016 polls, concerns regarding violence are high.
Presidential candidates were brought face to face by the Electoral Commission of Zambia at a stakeholders meeting on the backdrop of suspended campaigns in Lusaka and Namwala.
Republican President, Edgar Lungu and Opposition UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema stole the limelight following their shadow boxing during the various campaign trails recently.
ECZ Chairperson, Justice Eassu Chulu has urged the Presidential candidates to recommit clearly to peaceful campaigns for the remaining period of campaigns.
He does not regret the commission’s decision to suspend campaigns in Lusaka and Namwala districts saying political sanity has been restored.
The ECZ chief has reminded political parties not to take the elections as life and death because the period will come and go.
