1,581 People Arrested For Drug Offences In Second Quarter Of 2016

A total of one thousand and eighty people have been arrested countrywide for various drug offences in the second quarter of 2016.
The Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC Public Relations Officer Theresa Katongo says Luapula Province registered the highest number of arrests with 325 people followed by Lusaka Province with 265.
The Copperbelt Province had 234 arrests with Southern Province recording 132 while Central Province had 127 arrests.
Ms. Katongo says 125 were arrested in Northwestern while Eastern Province had 122 arrests.
Eighty-five suspects were arrested in Western Province while Muchinga and Northern provinces both had 83 arrests.
This is according to a statement issued to MUVI TV News.
