Police Raid Gbm’s Kasama Residence,22 Arrested

Police in Kasama have raided the residence of UPND Presidential Running mate Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, teargassing all his relatives found in the house.
The relatives who included Mr Mwamba’s wife, Chama, children, grandchildren, and some of his elderly relatives were chocked in the process.
Mr Mwamba who was on the Copperbelt at the time of the raid has told MUVI TV NEWS that a sum of five hundred thousand kwacha, some campaign materials and empty bottles of beer have since gone missing from his house after the raid.
Mr Mwamba says the reason for the raid is not yet known and has condemned the act by police.
He has since warned to take legal action.
Meanwhile, UPND Secretary General Stephen Katuka says some items police claim to have found at Mr Mwamba’s house were just planted.
Mr Katuka says the UPND categorically deny the existence of petrol bombs in the residence which police want to insinuate to have found at the residence.
