Lusaka’s Woodlands Police Secretly Releases Suspect Illegally Possessing Voters Cards

The Electoral process Act of 2016 provides that a person found selling
or buying or in possession of other people’s voters cards is liable to
five years imprisonment.
However, police officers at Lusaka’s Woodlands police station have
released a suspect found in possession of five voters cards and
National Registration cards without placing charges against him.
This situation has put to question the credibility of the police at
woodlands police in handling this matter.
The opposition UPND in Lusaka central constituency says this case is
closely being monitored.
