Civil Servants Funeral Assistance Scheme Launched

The Zambian government has officially launched the funeral assistance scheme for the civil service.
Secretary to the Cabinet, Roland Msiska has urged Madison Life Insurance Company to be transparent as it handles the funeral scheme for all civil servants.
Mr. Msiska acknowledged that the funeral grant that was previously being offered was very little to cater the high cost of funeral expenses.
And Madison life insurance company managing director Magret Chakonta says her company will carry out employee educational programme countrywide so that all civil servants are fully aware of the benefits of the funeral scheme.
The duo was speaking at the launch of the contributory group funeral assistance scheme for the public service.
