Green Party Leader Peter Sinkamba has appealed to President Edgar Lungu to declare 10, 11 and 12 August as public holidays for smooth voting.
Mr. Sinkamba says due to a number of limitations, it will be literally impossible for many voters to travel on Poll Day to areas where they are registered to vote.
He adds that due to cost of fuel, very few people can afford to drive long distances using personal cars to go and vote.
Sinkamba fears that voters may shun to travel to avoid absconding from work on Friday, in the event they fail to find their way back on Poll Day.
He also says the ongoing political violence will make it extremely risky to travel at night when poll results are being announced.
This is according to a statement issued to Muvi TV news by Green Party Leader Peter Sinkamba
