Post Newspapers’ Closure, An Assault On Press Freedom – IPI

The International Press Institute says the closure of post Newspaper offices is an assault on press freedom.
Organization Executive Board Chairperson John Yearwood says the Zambia Revenue Authority has other means of collecting tax but opted to close down key offices.
Mr. Yearwood says what has happened to the Post Newspaper can happen to any private media organization in Zambia.
And Africa media initiative senior advisor Wangethi Mwangi says from the meetings held with key government officials it is clear that the state was not after tax collection.
