A 24-year-old Kenyan living with HIV says there is need to promote
sexual reproductive health topics among children and adolescents in
order to attain zero infections of HIV in Africa.
Briano Otieno says the health topics are crucial and that young people
need to be engaged in order to enlighten self-control and decision
making among them.
Otieno has since advised African countries to embrace sexual and
reproductive health topics in schools in order to reach out to as many
children and adolescents as possible.
He was speaking when he addressed delegates at the learning and
exchange symposium in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
And Save the Children International Director for Regional and
Multi-Country Programming Ben Aliwa says the organization is holding
the symposium in order for countries to share experiences on
reproductive health and rights.
Mr. Aliwa says this will effectively scale up sexual reproductive
health and rights for children and adolescents in Africa.
