Solwezi’s Kimakolwe School In Dilapidated State

Kimakolwe School in Solwezi has remained in a dilapidated state since November 2015 when the school roof was blown off.
School Head teacher Ireen Solochi Mwila says there is need to urgently repair the school and also build another classroom block to avoid overcrowding.
She says the state of the school which houses both Primary and secondary has disturbing the calendar for the pupils hence the need to ensure it is urgently worked on.
Meanwhile, Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit, DMMU Regional Coordinator Mr. Peter Kabaso says his office is aware of the situation and has since written the ministry of Education for funds although nothing has happened to date.
The school is scouting for about 190 thousand Kwacha to repair the damage caused by the winds.
