ZNFU Urge Farmers To Value Agricultural And Shows

Zambia National Farmers Union has urged farmers and other stakeholders to take agricultural and commercial shows seriously as they are a yardstick for assessing the effectiveness of government programs.
ZNFU President Evelyn Nguleka says agricultural shows save as a basis of evaluating the effectiveness of agricultural policies and the impact of various government interventions meant to promote farming.
She adds that there is need for competitiveness among farmer groups in order to promote better farming methods.
She was speaking during the 90th Lusaka Province Agricultural and Commercial in Kafue under the theme: Managing Environment for Growth.
And speaking earlier, Lusaka province Agricultural Coordinator Dr. Linos Musimbwe said the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of livestock are committed to working together in order to alleviate poverty through sustainable crop and livestock production.
