Electoral Commission of Zambia- ECZ has disclosed that ballot papers for all polling stations are in the country except one box consisting of ballot papers for a polling station in Malole Constituency and some Local Government ballots for Mumbwa.
The remaining box is believed to have been among boxes of ballots for polling stations in Western, Northern and Central Provinces which were being reprinted in Dubai upon noticing errors.
Among the errors were omitted booklets, photos of candidates appearing twice and some photos of candidates swapped.
ECZ Senior Public Relations Officer Sylvia Bwalya states the reprints have been done in the same quantities as the ballots which were printed earlier with errors.
She says the Commission is in contact with the Printer in Dubai and United Arab Emirates Airline to ensure that the remaining box of reprinted ballot papers is in the country on time.
