UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says once in government, his party will ensure a stable policy environment that will see continued growth of the mining sector.
Mr Hichilema says Zambia’s mining sector has the potential for growth and produce 1.5 Million tones each year and not less than 750,000 tones.
Speaking when he held rallies in Chililabombwe and Chingola on the Copperbelt, Mr Hichilema said Zambia needs a mining sector that delivers for the people.
He said it is sad that Patriotic Front-PF’s inconsistent approach to mining policy has cost the country thousands in jobs and millions in lost investment.
Mr Hichilema has since urged Zambian to vote for the UPND, a government which he says will be committed to transparency and able to negotiate a good deal with investors.
