Lusaka Resident Asks Constitutional Court To Halt Referendum

A Lusaka resident has asked the Constitutional Court to stop the holding of the referendum due to the absence of the bill that should be agreed or disagreed to.
Fresher Siwale wants the court’s determination on whether or not the referendum should proceed in the absence of the bill to be voted on as it has not been availed to the citizens except the question.
Mr Siwale has submitted that going ahead with the holding of the referendum will be unconstitutional as the bill to be voted on has not been put across to the people.
