Enough Evidence Gathered To Support Petition In Constitutional Court-UPND

The UPND says it has gathered enough evidence that will secure a judgment in their favor as they petition the 2016 election results in the Constitution Court tomorrow, Thursday August 18, 2016.
UPND Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba says the party has been robbed of this year’s election, the fact he says will be proved within the next 14 days.
Mr Mwamba says the signing of the Amended Constitution by President Edgar Lungu has infact come to work in favor of the UPND.
He says had Mr Lungu not signed the constitution, he would have been sowrn-in by now while the opposition would not have had where to go.
Speaking during a Press briefing held at Party President Hakainde Hichilema’s residence, Mr Mwamba also wondered why tribal talk has become eminent under the Patriotic Front-PF leadership of Mr Lungu.
He has warned that if not checked, the issue of tribalism being promoted by the PF will prove to be a landmine which not even Mr Lungu will manage to contain.
Mr Mwamba has also condemned the high levels of violence under the PF and has since advised Mr Lungu to withdraw the police and army officers currently littered on the streets of Lusaka and other areas.
Meanwhile, Mr Mwamba has wondered why Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ IT Director Brown Kasaro has remained in detention while his Director Priscilla Isaac who is said to be the one who issued instructions to give Samuel Chavula the password to the ECZ Saver, is still walking freely.
Efforts to get ECZ’s comment on the issue of Kasaro failed.
Earlier UPND Member Rachael Chileshe expressed disappointment with Christian Churches Monitoring Group-CCMG for rushing to agreeing with the ECZ’s figures in the just ended elections despite the many irregularities.
Other speakers who included ADD President Charles Milupi, MMD President Dr Nevers Mumba, Party member Andrew Banda and UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango all condemned the tribal talk.
