UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says his party will fight for the people of Zambia despite all the alleged manipulation of results currently going on in the 2016 elections.
Mr Hichilema has also appealed to regional bodies to take keen interest in what is happening on Zambia’s political scene which he described as a Military coup on democracy.
Speaking at a Press briefing held at his residence, Mr Hichilema said no one should be allowed to take away the people’s democracy.
He says the violence and various other incidents against the opposition can have a direct effect on regional bodies.
The UPND President said it is sad that Zambia has an Electoral Commission that is in the forefront instigating instability in the country.
Mr Hichilema has cited the issue of the G12 form which he said was not available in most polling stations in Lusaka, leading to open manipulation of results.
He says it is also sad that the ECZ has ignored what was agreed with stakeholders that the Lusaka results should not be announced without resolving the issue of G12 forms which is a legal document in an election.
Mr Hichilema says the 2016 elections cannot be described as fair, credible and transparent due to the main flaws and collusion between the ECZ and the PF.
