Lungu – Five Years Is Sufficient To Grow Economy

President Edgar Lungu says his next five years at the helm of the country will focus on growing the economy.
He says five years is sufficient time to take more decisive action and measures to grow the economy and control expenditure.
President Lungu says some measures will be painful but will yield results and that by 2021, the people will reward government for having taken such action.
He says government was constrained to take certain measures due to political considerations.
The President elect says he is glad that one of the major benefits from the current constitutional order is that it assures stability in policy formulation and implementation because there is no fear of disruption in the Presidency.
The Head of State hinted at a rapid but progressive migration to a cost-reflective tariff structure in the electricity and fuel sectors and the restructuring of the agriculture support program.
He was speaking at a breakfast meeting attended by more than 70 captains of commerce and industry in Lusaka today.
This is contained in a statement made available to MUVI TV News by the President’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, Amos Chanda.
