Police Asks Politicians to Preserve National Peace

The Zambia Police Service in Luapula Province has urged political parties to commit themselves to the ideals of peace and national security as one way to avoid igniting political violence.
Luapula Province police commissioner, HUDSON NAMACHILA says violence if not contained can lead to a total breakdown of law and order in the country.
He said this during a meeting held to discuss the public order act organized by the Zambia Police Service in Mansa.
And SACCOD Luapula Province coordinator HENERY MULENGA said the Public Order Act lacks adequate political will to be in conformity with international standards.
