34-Year-Old Mpulungu Fisherman Killed For Alleged Child Trafficking

A 34-year-old man of Mbete village in Mpulungu District has been killed by an angry mob for alleged child trafficking.
Kwangaika Chifunda, a fisherman, was killed on allegations that he was responsible for trafficking a four-year-old boy in 2015.
Chifunda who fled from his village after persistent threats from the community in 2015 returned to his village on Tuesday, September 13 when he met his fate.The mob pounced on him using plunks, Pangas and other sharp materials.
Both police and Village sources revealed that Chifunda fled the village after appearing before traditional leaders where he allegedly pleaded guilty of the offence.
Chifunda’s body was picked in the early hours of Wednesday.
