Anthrax, Typhoid and Cholera have broken out in three different districts.
Ministry of Health Spokesperson Ruben Kamoto Mbewe says in a statement issued to MUVI TV NEWS that Anthrax has broken out in Chama District of Muchinga Province, Kapiri Mposhi, Central Province recording Cholera breakout while Typhoid has broken out in Mbala of Northern Province.
Seven people are currently being treated for Anthrax in Chama where the first case was reported on Thursday September 22, 2016.
Anthrax is a serious disease that affects animals and can be transmitted to human beings when people touch, cut, cook and eat meat from infected animals.
Dr. Mbewe also says fifteen cases of cholera have been recorded in Kapiri-Mposhi District with the first case reported on September 11, 2016.
One person has since died of cholera while one is currently undergoing treatment with 13 others having been discharged after being treated at Waya health Centre.
He also says 125 cases of Typhoid have been recorded in Mbala District with the first case, presented to Kasama General Hospital, on the July 28, 2016.
Dr. Mbewe says the disease has already claimed one life while a total of 124 patients have been treated and discharged.
