UNIP Cries Foul Over Lusaka Demolished Offices

Zambia’s oldest Political party UNIP has expressed disappointment at the Lusaka City Council-LCC’s decision to demolish its offices near Kabwata Market.
UNIP Lusaka District Chairperson Boniface Chapala says some politicians intend to turn a peace of land donated by National Housing Authority-NHA into a car park.
He says the demolished building accommodated a number of party offices. But Lusaka City Council Spokesperson Habeenzu Mulunda says the Local Authority had written a later of enforcement to the party which never responded.
Mr. Mulunda further says the building was instead being used as bar contrary to the initial plan.
