FTJ University Construction Works Yet To Start

Mansa District Commissioner Royd Chakaba has appealed for the commencement of construction works on the Frederick Chiluba University in Mansa District of Luapula Province.
Mr. Chakaba made the appeal during the Senior Management Meeting held in Mansa.
He said the 38 hectares of land has been cleared by the sub-contractor but the main Contractor has not started the construction works several months after getting the contract.
The DC said the contract was centrally awarded in Lusaka and the relevant authorities in Lusaka should intervene in the matter so that the Contractor could come back on site and start the construction works.
Mr. Chakaba also appealed for the construction of an abattoir in Mansa District because of the increased number of butcheries in the provincial capital.
He said the butcheries were slaughtering animals without following laid down procedures because of the absence of an abattoir.
