Brace For Increased Loadshedding

Zambians should for the next two weeks brace themselves for increased load shedding.
According to ZESCO Senior Manager Marketing and Public Relations Bessie Banda, the current extended load shedding being experienced in some parts of the country has been necessitated by the loss of 48 Megga watt Generation from Ndola Energy Company Limited.
ZESCO has also attributed the situation to the Works involving the upgrade of the 220 KV line to 330 KV between Muzuma and Kafue in readiness for what it calls total evacuation of power from Maamba Collieries power station.
The statement says the line upgrade works will be completed by November 11, 2016.
