First Rains Leave Havoc In Chiengi District

First rains have unsettled some families in Lupiya area of Chienge District in Luapula Province.

Ten families were recently forced to abandon their houses following the first heavy downpour that the area experienced.

The affected residents have stated that the rains caused flooding into their houses due to poor drainage system of some the key roads.

And Chienge Forum for Democracy and Development –FDD area Member of Parliament GIVEN KATUTA who visited the area says the rains are likely to cause more damage if the problem is not urgently sorted out.
