Human Rights Abuse Due To Lacunas In Statutes-Kasama Resident

86-year-old Kasama based Able Mutale says it is sad that some people have resorted to abusing human rights by taking advantage of the existing lacunas in the statutes.
Speaking during an interview following the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection JCTR’s fact finding mission on social economic and cultural rights, Mr Mutale said most families are now living in disarray because of some of the statutes which are in conflict with other traditional laws.
He says he has observed that some human rights statutes have come with lacunas, thereby sending most families in dilemma. His arguments comes in the wake of the August 11 failed referendum.
He has since appealed to government to sensitize the public on the genuine essence of human rights.
