Intention To Ban Second Hand Tyres Irk Traders

Second hand tyre traders have are up in arms with the road transport and safety agency’s pronouncement to soon introduce a ban on importing retreaded tires.
The traders says the business is their source of income and will become jobless once the ban is imposed.
One of the trader’s Joseph Phiri claim that accidents are not only caused by second hand tyres but mainly due to over speeding and drunken driving.
Motorists have expressed concern on the deplorable state of the deviation road at Manyumbi Toll Gates along Kabwe-Kapiri road.
The motorists also indicate that bad state of the road is damaging their vehicles.
And Kapiri-Mposhi district commissioner, Peter Mwinde who toured the ongoing works at Manyumbi Toll gates told the contractor, Nzovu Transport to expedite their works.
