NGO Annoyed With Govt Failure To Collect Mineral Royalties Tax

Publish What You Pay Zambia has expressed concern over government’s failure to collect over Two Hundred Million Kwacha in Mineral Royalty Taxes in 2015.
The organization is further worried with the continued looting of minerals through unauthorized exports as revealed in the 2015 Auditor General’s report.
Publish What You Pay Zambia Assistant National Coordinator, Mtwalo Msoni says failure to collect mineral royalty taxes is frightening especially when the country is facing numerous challenges.
He says the present scenario where the ordinary Zambian bear the burden of development while civil servants continue to be negligent and allow the loot of public resources should not be allowed.
