Solwezi Council Embarks On a Dog Killing Exercise

Solwezi Municipal Council has embarked on a dog killing exercise for all unregistered and unvaccinated dogs in the district.
Council Public Relations Officer Thandiwe Tembo says so far the authority has received a report of sixty cases of rabies due increased numbers of stray dogs hence its decision to clear the said dogs.
Ms Tembo says the environmental act stipulates that all dogs should be registered and vaccinated annually to prevent such cases of rabies outbreak.
She has since appealed to members of the public to cooperate with the authority and show documentations as proof that their dogs have been vaccinated.
