Green Party President Peter Sinkamba says there is no justification whatsoever for the Police to use brutality against defenseless citizens, especially women.
Mr Sinkamba says the video images circulating on social media showing Police brutality against citizens in Luanshya and Lusaka are extremely depressing for a Christian Nation.
He says the constitution grants citizens, including women, the right to freely participate in building a sustainable political, legal, economic and social order of the country and that all must be supported by government in the attainment of these objectives.
Mr Sinkamba says the brutality circulating on social media is disgusting as the images are not helping in terms of promoting women rights and claiming their space in the socio-political dispensation of the country.
He has since called upon Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo to ensure such behaviour is stopped forthwith.
Mr Sinkamba says such acts are just tarnishing the image of President Edgar Lungu whom he says has sworn to uphold the human rights and fundamental freedoms of every person and principles of democracy and good governance in the country.
