Police officers with a tendency of engaging in corrupt activities at checkpoints have been warned to desist from the vice.
Inspector General Kakoma Kakanja has sounded the warning in a statement released through police public relations.
The IG has since disclosed a reduction of permanent security and traffic checkpoints by half from the 81 established across the country.
Police will now rely on motorised patrols to complement the remaining checkpoints to ensure observance of laws and regulations.
