The Lusaka High Court has dissolved the marriage between Ambassador Frank Mutubila and his wife Evelyn Tembo.This is in a matter where he petitioned Evelyn for divorce over allegations of unreasonable behavior.In his evidence given before court Mutubila stated that while he saved as Zambia’s Ambassador to Italy, Evelyn was in Palermo, Norway and Holland pursuing her studies.
He says whilst in Holland, she told him that she was pregnant after undergoing In Vito Fertilization-IVF.Mutubila says during their separation, Evelyn bore a son which he disowned as not being the child of the family as he did not consent.
He prayed for the dissolution of the marriage saying he was embarssed by Evelyn’s act.
In cross petition Evelyn told High Court Judge Mwinde Siavwapa that the couple actually discussed submitting to IVF until in 2014 when Mutubila told her to do as she insisted.
She further stated that their marriage had broken down irretrievably alleging that Mutubila exhibited violence towards her since 2007 and that he had abandoned the matrimonial home opting to live in a hotel.
