ZAMBIAN-EU Sign Financing Agreement For Aviation Sector Support Programe

The Zambian government and the European Union have signed a financing agreement for the Aviation sector support programme worth 5.6 million Euro.
The grant has been financed from the 11th European Development Fund.
The programme aims at facilitating improvements to the institutional and regulatory framework in order to ensure conformity with the operational requirements of the international civil aviation organization.
The expected results include a strengthened air safety and security oversight system, air traffic management services brought up to international standard and key sector institutions.
Ambassador of the European Union to Zambia Alessandro Mariani signed on behalf of the EU while Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba signed on behalf of the Zambian government.
