Farmers in Kambowa area of Masaiti district have feared for the worst following the continuous attack of armyworms in their maize fields.
The worms are spreading across major farming areas on the Copperbelt province thereby threatening food security.
The farmers fear that hunger will not spare them if the armyworms attack will not be brought under control.
Meanwhile, the Zambia Air Force has delivered chemicals for use in the ten districts on the Copperbelt.
Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Reverend Howard Sikwela has since urged all district agricultural offices to ensure that the affected areas are sprayed.
