Confusion At Uth As Patients Are Evicted From The Ward On Ministerial Directive

Confusion on Monday night characterised Zambia’s biggest Health Institution, the University Teaching Hospital-UTH after patients admitted to Ward B-13 were suddenly told to vacate the ward despite having already paid the fees.
A MUVI TV NEWS that rushed to the hospital found a number of patients, mainly those that had just delivered, wondering where to go as the directive came at an awkward hour.
According to the patients and some sources at UTH, the confusion came as a result of a Ministerial directive from the Ministry of Health to remove all the patients from the B13 ward to C13 without any tangible explanation.
The directive, however caused commotion at the hospital as patients, some of them on drips, were not willing to vacate the ward around 23 hours.
