Four Officers Of First Quantum Mining Remanded

Four officers of First Quantum Mining limited have been remanded awaiting their bail to be processed.
Paul Llyod, James Beverly, Issac Mutumbi and Mulenga Kalunga are facing charges which include endangering the life of a whistle blower, Augustin Tembo who exposed corrupt activities at the mining company.
Paul Lloyd and his co accused appeared for plea before Lusaka principle resident Magistrate Alice Walusiku where they denied all the allegations leveled against them.It is alleged that the four between May 1, 2014 and April 31, 2015 whilst acting together with other persons unknown did a detrimental action that is in reprisal for a person who made a protected disclosure namely, August Tembo where by Mr. Tembo , the whistle blower was dismissed ‎from First Quantum after he made a protected disclosure to ACC.They are further charged with publishing protected disclosure to unauthorized person without consent, unlawful publishing or communicating protected disclosure and conspiring to engage in an unlawful reprisal.
They are further charged with willfully disclosure of confidential information without reasonable excuse and conspiracy to defeat justice.
