GOVT Refuses To Increase Salaries For Health Workers

Government has refused to increase salaries for health workers during the 2017 collective bargaining process held in Livingstone.
Zambia Union of Nurses Organisation President Liseli Sitali says during the two weeks of bargaining, government offered a Zero percent salary increment and any other salary related allowances.
He says government instead offered to give an increment on non-salary related allowances which only benefit administrative officers.
He says his union has since resolved to extend the bargaining process to March 30, 2017 due to failure to agree and conclude the negotiations with better deals.
