HH Castigates Police Over Attacks On UPND Cadres

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has described Thursday’s attack on his supporters by the police as brutal.
Mr Hichilema says the brutal attack on his peaceful supporters is a clear indication of the brutal and dictatorial tendencies towards the opposition.
Meanwhile party vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has opposed the decision to ban the cadres from attending court hearings.
On Thursday police and the cadres fought running battles at the Lusaka high court after the police provoked the cadres by teargassing them.

  1. This is exactly what HH wanted. The police were not wise to react to them. All he wanted was to create a scene for the international community. He has even made it clear that now we have clear evidence. These are common tactics. If I were the man in-charge, I will give him silent treatment. All he wants is attention. He has point. It is his right to be heard. As he goes to court, let him go freely. But it should be mentioned that police has duty to keep peace.
